Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 8 was
established in 1972, and provides drinking water,
sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and other municipal
services to Walden residences located in Walden on Lake
Conroe in Montgomery, Texas. MUD 8 owns and operates
groundwater wells, water distribution systems, sanitary
and storm sewer systems, and a wastewater treatment
plant to serve
Walden on Lake Conroe residents. As of
January, 2010, MUD 8 provides municipal water services
to approximately 1500 customers located on the Walden
peninsula. MUD 8 is considered a “Large Volume Water
User”, as defined by the
Lone Star Groundwater
Conservation District (LSGCD), and must comply with
groundwater conservation regulations beginning in 2016.
